Dr. Jason Richmond brings a plethora of experience to Tallant Music Studio and will be spear-heading our Music Technology department! You can study guitar (all styles), music composition, music theory, songwriting and music technology and recording with Jason. We at TMS believe that understanding how to write or improvise on your instrument is just as important as learning to play- Jason brings an expert level on this approach. Not to mention, he can teach you how to create an entire song or a piece from the tips of your fingers on a computer! Jason Richmond received his Doctorate in Music Composition at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). His works, both acoustic and electronic, have been performed throughout the United States and Europe. His electronic music has been performed at the Ball State New Music Festival, Electronic Music Midwest Festival, the Electro-acoustic Barn Dance Music Festival, Manchester Music Festival, Kainan University in Taiwan, and a performance of his award winning work PLuCK at the ICMC in Daegu, South Korea.
He recently completed the NES Artist Residency in Iceland, focusing on commissioned works. Jason is the recipient of CCM’s Composer Competition Award and finalist in both the Pittsburgh Philharmonic and Tampa Bay Symphony’s Orchestra Composer’s Competition. His orchestral piece Ctrl + Alt + Del was recorded by the Brno Philharmonia in the Czech Republic and is featured on ABLAZE Records Orchestral Masters Vol. 4 disc.
