Piano and Violin Teacher in Cincinnati

Vera Hsu was born in Taipei, Taiwan. Currently, Vera is pursuing her Doctoral Degree in Violin
Performance at the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music with String pedagogy
as her cognate under the guidance of Dr. Won-Bin Yim, and she served as a teaching assistant
to teach technique lessen in Prof. Yim’s studio. She received her bachelor’s in fine art at the
National Taiwan University of Arts. After two years of working in Taiwan, she decided to study
at the University of Cincinnati for a Master’s degree in violin performance.


Vera is a passionate musician, she has been performing as a soloist, chamber musician, and
orchestral violinist in Vienna, the United States, and Taiwan. She performed as a violin soloist
with the New Taipei high school symphony. Also, she has performed as an orchestral violinist in
CCM Philharmonia, the Kentucky symphony orchestra, Richmond symphony orchestra, and
Southwest Ohio Philharmonic. Moreover, she participated Salut Taiwan International Music
Festival in Taiwan, Landesmusikschule Weyer– Großraming Music Festival in Europe, and Green
Mountain Chamber Music Festival in the United States. In 2023, she attended National Music
Festival with a full scholarship and learned with Jessica Mathaes, Elizabeth Adams, Emily Smith,
and James Stern.


As a teacher, Vera has eight years of in-person violin and piano teaching, two years of violin
group teaching, and three years of online teaching experience. She was a violin club teacher at
Mingde Elementary School in Taiwan. Currently, Vera is doing the Suzuki Association of
America’s teaching training and being a violin and piano teacher at Cincinnati String and Tallant
Music Studio.
